Wooo I knocked this out in one day from start to finish! If this comic was my 9-5 it’d be done in 2 years…but alas.

Panel 1 [Ezra kneels by the tub, taking the eyesplice in one hand as he glances over at Lawrence, who's reaching up for the whale line hanging from above.]

EZRA:
We keep an eye splice outside the tub, like this. And then all you need'ta do is feed me that line and work out any extra twists as I coil down. But watch as I do it.

Panel 2 [Shot over Lawrence’s shoulder as Ezra starts to coil the line in the tub]

EZRA:
It's laid clockwise, outside in. Each layer smooth and perfect-like, so it runs free when the time comes. Understand?

LAWRENCE:
Yes.

Panel 3 [Closer shot of Ezra looking pensive as he catches himself mid-thought]

EZRA:
Each boatsteerer tends to his own tub and…Ha…guess that means this ain’t my job anymore.

Panel 4 [Same shot, Ezra waving it off and smiling slightly]

EZRA:
Ahh, I don’t think Mr. De Silva will mind me gettin’ him started on this one

Panel 5 [Close up shot of Ezra’s hands working on the line tub. His voice off camera, Lawrence’s as well.

EZRA:
It’s important to mind that there ain’t no knuckles in the line. No twists. Just one could kill us all.

LAWRENCE:
How so?
