Panel 1 [Shot from the prow of the boat, men's backs in the foreground as Ezra leans down to his crew, holding the steering oar.]
EZRA:
Hush now, whales have ears just like you and I. We can’t have him gallied.
Panel 3 [Ezra outstretches his arm, passing his hand over the crew who bow over their oars]
EZRA:
Now pull. Soft but swift, like a jolly breeze.
Panel 6 [Pulled back overhead shot of boats progressing across the waves.]

And so begins the long wait until the next installment… 🙁
But I can see that with the level of detail going into it.

A lot of the upcoming pages are gonna be ‘splashier’, so I’m hoping I can get through more of them this month!

You don’t need to bait whales, they come up on their own 😉

I just found this comic and caught up straight away! I’m excited to see where it goes, this so reminds me of my visit to mystic seaport museum. Have you ever been? I would recommend it, when I see different parts of the Valor in this comic it brings back the memory of exploring the Charles C. Morgan. I completely understand your newfound frustration for drawing whaleboats, I sometimes work on a fantasy comic as a hobby and I’ve discovered that I can’t stand drawing horses it’s so terrible I feel like all of my horses look like a very confused medieval monk drew them. Best of luck with the troubles, I eagerly await the next update!

Thanks so much for reading! And yes, I absolutely have made my pilgrimage to the Charles W. Morgan! She’s a lovely ship. And a lot of the interiors of the Valor were referenced off of her.
Best of luck with your horses–terrible to draw, far too many joints in the leg.
