Panel 1 [Whalers stand in line in the shipping agent’s office receiving their pay, looking unhappy with it]
NARRATION:
Well the work was hard and the wages low, leave her johnny, leave her
Panel 2 [Same shot of shipping office with the shipping agents receiving their cuts, looking pleased. Identified as Not Whalers by their dress and that they don’t look like they’ve been at sea for 4 years.]
NARRATION:
Well we’re still in debt, back to sea we will go.
Panel 3 [Cut to outside, whalers on the dock looking wearily up at the ship.]
NARRATION:
Maybe one day we will leave her.

I know next to nothing about whaling (I’m about halfway through Moby-Dick and that’s literally the entirety of my exposure to it, other than your blog), so I really liked having the shanty lyrics paired with scenes to orient me to this setting.
loved the shanty sequence, and particularly the emotions juxtaposed in this last page…excited to read on! this webcomic’s been on my tbr for a long time
